In a recent rally at Brooklyn College in New York City where Bernie Sanders was “born and raised,” the Vermont senator is declaring the upcoming campaign as a “political revolution which is going to transform America.” The crowd went wild for the statement, and Bernie concluded with rapid-fire remarks against  Donald Trump, saying, “Thank you for being part of a campaign which is not only going to win the Democratic nomination, which is not only going to defeat Donald Trump, who is the most dangerous president in modern American history, but with your help we are going to transform this country.”

This is not the first time Bernie has lit a match against Donald Trump, as he recently went on the Vermont radio and categorized Donald Trump a “racist, a sexist, and a homophobe.” Even with the statement of politically revolutionizing the country, non-Bernie supporters would go as far as calling the statement a hypocrisy, as most political figures continue to get funds from corporate America, the oil industry, and pharmaceutical companies, which Bernie is consistently calling dirty politics. Even with Bernie not receiving funds, the idea he will stop all his colleagues from receiving funds from companies that make America rich, might be considered a far reach, but to Bernie supporters, it’s doable.

Bernie hopes that his campaign will be the finishing line to his 2016 race, stating, “Now it’s time to move the revolution forward.” Claiming his campaign will be built on a promise, he says, “What I promise to do is, as I go around the country, take the values that all of us in Vermont are proud of – a belief in justice, in community, in grassroots politics, in town meetings – that’s what I’m going to carry all over this country.” He also makes it known that his priority is Medicare, climate change, and making the minimum wage $15.

Bernie Sanders will be facing a very competitive list of potential Democratic nominees with the list including Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Amy Klobuchar, Senator Cory Booker and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Still, that doesn’t make him an exception, as independent News calls him, “one of the best-known candidates” also stating that in the first week of his campaign, thanks to his “strong base for small donors,” Bernie raised 10 million dollars, which is far more than the other Democratic nominees.

If he is selected as the Democratic presidential nominee, he has lit the match against Donald Trump, and it seems that Bernie’s supporters will be prepared to feel the Bern.
