If you’re looking to treat yourself to a big-time exotic and relaxing trip, then Chile should now be near the top of your list. The country has its fair share of five-star hotels, but their newest addition supposedly puts even those to shame, according to Jack Ezon, the founder of the luxury New York City travel agency, Embark and an expert in the hotel industry.

Puro Vik is the sixth, and the latest addition of the internationally-renowned Vik boutique hotels started by Norwegian-Uruguayan entrepreneur Alex Vik and his American wife, Carrie, and is in Chilean wine country, Millahue Valley- about a 2.5-hour drive from the country’s capital city of Santiago.

The other locations included three in Uruguay, one in Milan, and the Vik Chile, which hangs on the steep hills right above the Puro Vik and no more than a five-minute walk from each other.

Puro Vik is home to 19 different glass houses, with each serving as a suite for two. Each room encompasses three walls made strictly of glass, with floor-to-ceiling windows that will hopefully make you feel engulfed by the 11,000 acres of the Vik’s own winery. They aim to make you feel like you’re standing outside, even though you’re inside.

“Guests should feel like they’re floating on top of the valley and amid the trees,” he says.

And if you are worried about lack of privacy, don’t fret, because every suite has black out blinds.

Each room has a theme, with a collection of works by top contemporary artists to complement it. Themes range from their Japanese-themed Hiroshige suite,” The Letras (letters in Spanish) Suite, The Art of Glass with Dale Chihuly, 18th-century France, Holographic Art, Bohemian Design, and Neon & Light among others.

Even each bathroom has its unique type of marble and handmade Japanese washi paper to elegantly separate the bath from the bedroom.

The Viks are masters at combining cutting edge design with world-class art and food in destinations that are usually uncharted,” Ezon says. “Puro Vik is the sexiest of their properties and has incredible views. So many people I know are dying to stay there.”

Included in the rates are all-inclusive meals and wine, activities such as horseback riding, hiking, biking, wine tasting, paintball, birdwatching and astronomy evening walks, along with access to Vik Chile’s fitness center, game room, swimming pool, restaurant, and spa. Rates start at $1,100/night. You can read more about this on CNN.
