Traveling has never been known to be cheap, but JetBlue recently attempted to make it more affordable in a unique way. According to Travel + Leisure, the airline had the “All You Can Jet Sweepstakes,” a giveaway for their “All You Can Jet Pass,” where three winners would be allowed unlimited travel with JetBlue for an entire year without costs.
Each winner is allowed a single flight companion per flight to over 100 of the airline’s destinations, which raises the value of the prize to an approximated $20,000.
What made the sweepstakes so fun, however, was the entry process. It required you to empty your entire Instagram account from February 27 until March 8 by either deleting or archiving all your pictures and videos.
“With a blank social slate, participants are able to make room for all the destinations and activities they could capture and share using the pass,” JetBlue shared in a statement. This way, JetBlue added, the winners can showcase “who or what they love most by filling in the blank: All You Can ____.”
The requirement to enter was to choose a photo to illustrate a place, activity or a person you’d like to visit. Then, you had to upload it to jetblue.com/AYCJ and customize your image frame to fill in the blank “All You Can ____” caption and add the hashtag #AllYouCanJetSweepstakes and @jetblue.
The “With the #AllYouCanJetSweepstakes, we’re encouraging travelers to fly with a blank slate to help them imagine of all the places they could jet to with the All You Can Jet pass,” Heather Berko, Manager, Advertising & Content at JetBlue, told Travel + Leisure. “We hope this will serve as inspiration to refill their slate with the activities, places and people they will visit – wherever that may be.”
The idea is neat, creative and fun, and one that other companies may look to model their own respective sweepstakes after, so we just have to keep an eye out for future ones.
And there are no strings attached. Winners do not have to do anything in return after all their traveling other than hopefully post photos, which isn’t mandatory either. “There’s no posting requirement for the three lucky #AllYouCanJetSweepstakes winners, but with more than 100 destinations to choose from, we certainly hope they will fill up their blank slate so we can live vicariously through their year of adventure,” Berko added.
