Season 15 of “The Voice” welcomed a new “Voice” coach to its panel. John Legend joined Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine for the new season, and apparently, he is killing it, according to E! News.

The American singer-songwriter’s experience with the blind auditions on the first episode started off with some good-humored drama. The country singer Blake Shelton blocked Legend from fighting for the first contestant. “Who blocked me? They don’t want us to be together. They’re haters. How am I the first person blocked?” Legend complained. Uh-oh, no going soft just because you’re a newbie, Legend.

Fortunately, it was smooth sailing from there on and, quite frankly, very entertaining! The audience swooned over Legend, yelling, “We love you John!” And someone even showed some bromance; a man joined in on the love, shouting, “I love you more, bro.” John returned the love by blowing them kisses.

Per E! News, Legend turned around after a contestant’s impressive rendition of a TLC song, but she wound up selecting Blake as her “Voice” coach instead! “As you can see, I’ve been denied the opportunity. We could have made beautiful music together,” Legend said. “I’ve already been blocked twice!”

He kept his sense of humor though, later singing his own version of Ariana Grande’s “Breathin,” “Just keep blockin’, and blockin’,’ and blockin.’”

Quite the “rough” beginning for Legend. Nonetheless, he was a fun addition to the first episode of the blind auditions.
