For the holiday season, many cities in Europe transform into a winter wonderland that looks straight out of a Hallmark movie. Here are the seven most “magical” Christmas cities in Europe according to NY Post.

Winchester, UK. This breathtaking town is beautiful year-round, but when it is decorated for Christmas it resembles something right out of a fairy-tale. The town has a Christmas market and an ice-skating rink; they also play Christmas hymns that echo throughout the town.

Vilnius, Lithuania. This medieval town looks breathtaking when the snow falls on the streets. It has a total of nine Christmas markets and there are festive decorations throughout the town. Talk about a town with Christmas spirit!

Coburg, Germany. This town features the statue of Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s husband, “who famously brought the Christmas tree to England in the 1840s” according to NY Post. It also has a huge castle and gorgeous lighting displays throughout the city.

Aarhus, Denmark. This small-town has plenty of festive spirit. Wandering this quaint town will definitely give you Hallmark Christmas movie vibes with its decorated streets and small boutiques and cafes lining the town.

Antwerp, Belgium. This festive city is known for its “dimly lit pubs featuring cozy roaring fires and superb traditional beers,” according to NY Post. This town has fairground rides to entertain the kids and delicious food to please the adults. The best of both worlds!

Colmar, France. This romantic city is beautiful year-round, but the holidays bring extra magic. According to NY Post, on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the season, “children’s choirs float on illuminated boats, singing carols to passers-by.” How cute!

Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany. This town is described as “the ultimate Bavarian fairy tale.” It is one of the most well-preserved medieval towns and its Christmas event, the Reiterlesmarkt, is a must-see.
