Laura Ingraham had some harsh words for the new roster of congresswomen. “The freshman insurrection” and the “four horsewomen of the apocalypse” – these are the terms Laura Ingraham, Fox News host, used to describe the recently-elected female members of Congress. On “The Ingraham Angle,” Ingraham said that Representatives-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the youngest woman ever elected to Congress; Ayanna Pressley, Massachusetts’ first black congresswoman; and Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, the first Muslim women elected to Congress, represent some of the most fanatical views in Congress.

“Free college for all, free health care for all, the abolishment of ICE, a Green New Deal where the U.S. depends entirely on renewable energy — have fun in those planes! And, on the foreign policy front, they’re even wackier. The anti-Israeli bias of some of these junior congresswoman-elect is downright disturbing,” Ingraham raved. She argued that “these far-left newbies is going to make governing all but impossible for the Democrats in leadership, especially considering that they’re going to have progressive support through one of their top agenda items: Trump’s impeachment.”

Continuing the topic further, Mitch McConnell, Senate Majority leader, wrote an op-ed for Fox News, titled “Will Dems work with, or simple put partisan politics ahead of the country?” In 2016, McConnell blocked former President Barack Obama from nominating a new Supreme Court justice, which make his op-ed seem paradoxical, according to Salon.

Ingraham warned that there are “dark pink clouds gathering on the horizon,” referring to the diverse group of congresswomen as they made their way to Capitol Hill for orientation on Nov. 13. Seems a little harsh, with so many celebrating history being made for women in politics. Read more on Salon here.
