Climate change, gun violence, illegal immigration…three hot button issues when it comes to political debates; but Republicans and Democrats are divided over the ‘real importance’ of these issues.

For example, according to Pew Research Center, when it comes to climate change, 72 percent of Democrats believe it is a ‘very big’ issue, while only 11 percent of Republicans think it is an issue.

25 percent of Republicans think gun violence is a major problem, while 81 percent of Democrats think it is a problem.

75 percent of Republicans think illegal immigration is an issue, but only 19 percent of Democrats agree.

See the differences? These are three main issues that the parties fight over – and neither party can agree on the importance of the issues.

There are a few topics the two parties do seem to agree on, though. More than 60 percent of Democrats and Republicans believe drug addiction is a big issue, and both parties are concerned about violent crime.

It seems Americans disagree on which topics are worth debate. Have you noticed? Read more about this story on Vox here.
