Third time’s a charm, as the saying goes.

Movie remakes get a bad rep. But Bradley Cooper wasn’t afraid to make yet another adaptation of William A. Wellman’s original 1937 movie, ‘A Star Is Born.’ Forbes says that, “The film was conceived and sold as an event for folks who had absolutely zero knowledge of or interest in the prior versions of this tale as old as time.”

There are now three remakes in total. According to a source, the first adaptation was filmed in 1954, directed by George Cukor and starring Judy Garland and James Mason. Another one in 1976, with Frank Pierson directing and Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in the lead roles. And now Cooper’s version, starring himself and pop icon Lady Gaga.

Forbes notes that this remake is one done right, revealing that the new adaptation is “a sexy, exciting, musically enhanced and adult-skewing melodrama,” earning it $57.063 million within the first 5 days of release. So, while some adaptations of movies can be overdone, the article states that “movies that can be remade and perhaps should be remade.”

Recently, Lady Gaga has been receiving glowing reviews for her role in the new film. As the star, she plays Ally, a struggling singer who attains international fame after a forgotten rock-country star, Cooper, helps her out.

The press tour has been going quite successful as well for the singer and actress. The pop icon has managed to deliver lots of “feels” on screen as well as off-screen, from Venice to Toronto. Gaga has given laughs, smiles, and tears in interview after interview about the movie, making it easy for Glamour to compile clips of Gaga’s best viral moments.

In the cast and crew Q&A clip, Gaga reveals that she is spoiled having worked with such a talented and passionate team. She also tears up after one of her costars says that she “killed every single scene she’s in,” while everyone started clapping for her. Another special moment was on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival, where Lady Gaga shined in a black Armani Privé gown and a matching embellished hat along with a veil.

Although this is the third remake of ‘A Star Is Born,’ Forbes believes that it is one that makes you forget that fact; so therefore, it’s a film worth checking out this fall season.
