Put on your best crew socks and high waisted shorts- the 2018 NBA draft is here. One of the top prospects is a freshman out of Michigan State, Jaren Jackson Jr. His dad, Jaren Jackson Sr. won a title with the Spurs and played in the NBA for 12 seasons. Talk about a lot to live up to. However, it looks as though 6-foot-11 Jackson is the perfect man for the job.
He is projected to go No. 5 overall to the Dallas Mavericks by CBS Sports’ Reid Forgave and Gary Parrish in their most recent mock drafts. Not bad for an 18-year-old college freshman. His average was 10.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and three blocks per game, which is extremely impressive considering his average play time was about 22 minutes a night for the Spartans.
However, one of the main concerns about this standout is his number of fouls. He averaged 3.2 fouls per game in just 22 minutes, which is something he can improve on.
Will Jaren Jackson Jr. be the next big draft pick for the upcoming NBA season? 32% of you voted yes, he’s the next big thing, while 68% of you voted no, he is overrated. I suppose only time will tell, but for now, you let us know what you think. Read more on the story on CBS Sports here.
