Fifth Harmony payed homage to their fans with a beautiful farewell. The group who announced their indefinite hiatus in March, indicating the break is due to all members wanting to pursue “solo endeavors, released a final music video – for now.
The video came as a surprise to fans, featuring the girls singing in black and white gowns in an empty white room. The beautiful ballad features all singers individually and then has them come together and hold hands in unity one last time. As the song is coming to an end, all girls are seen independently exiting a door with a shining light come through it. In the final shot, a door is shown cracked open. Many are speculating that the cracked door is a symbolic hint that, even though they are going their separate ways, they door is cracked open for a possible return.
Fifth Harmony is composed of members Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui, who have stuck together through high and lows. Former member Camila Cabello, left the group in Dec. 2016, and the girls decided to continue their music journey together. Clearly, they were hurt by Cabello’s departure as they dissed her in their 2017 MTV VMA performance, which Cabello later revealed left her crying after she saw it.
Now it appears, the girls are following in Cabello’s footsteps as they have been focusing on their solo opportunities. Cabello has had much success after her departure, and we are sure the ladies of Fifth Harmony are on their way to reaching their own as well. Normani recently appeared on Dancing with the Stars and ended in 3rd place. She was amazing and made a name for herself on it, as many thought she would win. She recently collaborated with Khalid on her single “Love Lives,” and together they performed the song at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. Dinah worked with French Montana on the smash hit “Boom Boom.’ Ally released “Perfect” with Topic and recently signed a solo artist deal. Lauren released music with Steve Aoki and Ty Dollar Sign.
“Being the biggest girl group of this decade, the fact that I can even say that is so surreal,” Normani told E! News. “I accomplished that and I was a part of it with other beautiful girls that I love so much. Who knows what will happen down the road in the future? It’s all about the evolution,” she added.
Clearly these girls are just evolving artists and the journey will continue for them. We have seen so many groups reunite, so this may happen again in time. We love the girl power these girls are giving us! Do you think they will be back? 58% of people think they will be back, while 42% think that cracked door will never open again.
