Trump Demands to Seize News Outlet Credentials

With the digital age, there are millions of media sources and outlets providing us with news, real or fake. However, President Trump is convinced that most of the news about his administration is indeed fake. He recently cited a poll, revealing that 91 percent of broadcast news coverage about him is negative.

To solve this issue, Trump suggested to take away the credentials of news outlets. He claimed that the media is corrupt and that there is no point in supporting it. However, the White House Correspondents Association did not embrace his decision, but instead called it an attack on the First Amendment, which promises freedom of the press. According to the New York Post, the group’s president, Margaret Talev tweeted that, “free press must be able to report on the good, the bad, the momentous and the mundane, without fear or favor,” after Trump’s comments.

A study was conducted by the conservative polling group “Media Research Center of broadcast coverage of the president” during January 1 and April 30. They monitored the evening news on CBS, ABC and NBC with the conclusion that 90% of the comments on Trump were false. Some of the stories included his possible complicity with Russia during the election and the scandal involving porn star Stormy Daniels.

The president regularly talks about how he doesn’t trust the media, news outlets and journalists. Is his skin too thin for this job? 72% of us believe that the Media should be shut down all together, while 28% think President Trump needs to toughen up.
