New NRA President Will ‘Shut Down the Gun Control Debate’

Oliver North was announced as the next president of the National Rifle Association. “I am honored to have been selected by the NRA Board to soon serve as this great organization’s President,” North said in a statement. “I appreciate the board initiating a process that affords me a few weeks to set my affairs in order, and I am eager to hit the ground running as the new NRA President.”

According to Politico, North is a retired U.S. Marine Corps, Fox News Host, and was former President Ronald Reagan’s National Security before being convicted of three charged in 1989. The convictions were dropped but include taking part in a scheme to sell weapons to Iran.

With all the recent anti-gun advocates and rallies, the change couldn’t come at a better time. The NRA spokeswoman, Dana Loesch released a statement about the excitement the NRA has over the new announcement of the new NRA President. “Thrilled about the Oliver North news. A total warrior for freedom, this is the last person that anti-gun advocates would want as the new President of the NRA board,” NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch tweeted. Do you think Dana Loesch is right and Oliver North will be able to shut down the gun control debate? 60% of us seem to be a fan and agree he will be able to, while 40% disagree.
