A new movement has begun. Kanye West is known to make headlines, but now his freedom of speech and expression of his thoughts may be backfiring. According toCosmopolitan, a Detroit radio show announced it will no longer play any of Kanye West’s music.
“We feel like Kanye has gone too far with his latest statement declaring that ‘slavery was a choice.’ We are over it. We don’t want to hear Kanye’s music, we don’t want to play Kanye on our show, we don’t want to talk about Kanye anymore. So we are taking a stand and we aren’t playing his music anymore; we just are refusing to give him a platform,” BiGG & Shay Shay from the 105.1 Morning Bounce posted on Facebook.
The Facebook post includes the hashtag #MuteKanye, to proclaim their movement to ban Kanye’s music. Will the #MuteKanye movement be the end of Kanye? Only 22% of people agree and think he is done, while 78% believe Kanye West will prevail. Only time will tell if this will all just be more publicity for Mr. West.
